NECK OF THE WOODS OUTDOORS STRIPER TOURNAMENT 2008

  1. Cash and prizes of $6000.00 based on 200 entries will be posted on www.neckofthewoodsoutdoors.com and will increase in amount as sponsors and entree fees are received. Updates will be posted weekly. The tournament will award cash and prizes at its discretion, based on prize availability.

  2. Official tournament starts June 1, 2008 and ends June 8, 2008.  Official checking stations close at 6:00 p.m., June 8. (See Checking Station Listings).

  3. Proof of name and registration number must be presented to the official checking station when checking a fish. Registration number will be mailed to all anglers and posted on our website upon receiving registration fees on or before May 28, 2008. 

  4. Youths registering for the tournament must be 16 years of age or under throughout the fishing event to qualify for the youth class.

  5. Registered anglers are allowed to check two stripers throughout the tournament (minimum length 25”). but can only win one prize. All fish must be weighed in on the day caught.  Your fish cannot be registered or have been entered in any other fishing tournament.  (See Checking Station Listings).

  6. All anglers must fish in the Chesapeake Bay and/or any of its tidal tributaries within the boundaries of the Bay Bridge to the C & D Canal Maryland-Delaware state line.  In all cases, waters must be legally open to striped bass fishing.

  7. All fish must be caught on rod and reel in a fair and sportsmanlike manner.  No fish will be considered for entry if shot, speared, gillnetted, gaffed, frozen or mutilated.

  8. All fish entered are subject to thorough examination both externally and internally by the weigh master and the Tournament Committee. The weigh master, at his or her discretion, may open the stomach cavity and examine the contents of any fish entered.

  9. In the event of a tie in length, the total weight will be used as a tiebreaker, with the total weight the winner.  If a tie still exists, time of weigh-in will determine the winner, with the first fish checked in declared the winner.

  10. Anglers are urged to display common courtesy, proper boat handling, safety and seamanship.  All registered anglers will participate in the tournament and its activities at their own risk and will accept full responsibility for their boats, crew and gear.

  11. This tournament is open to recreational fishermen only; therefore, commercial rod and reel fishermen are not eligible to participate in this tournament. Charter captains, guides and mates, while under charter, are not eligible for this tournament.

  12. Entrants may be given a polygraph test, failure to take a test will result in disqualification.  Any contestant or entrant found guilty of cheating, attempting to cheat, or otherwise deviating from the rules and regulations of this tournament shall be disqualified and considered ineligible for further and future participation.

  13. These rules and regulations are subject to change by the Tournament Committee at any time and without notice in the best interest of all our registered anglers. The tournament also reserves the right to substitute prizes in case of prize unavailability.

  14. All registered anglers checking a fish for prizes must have a photo taken by weight master of you and your striper with registration number attached to your fish to qualify for prizes.
